Colorado Mountain College in Leadville is seeking a part time faculty member to be our lead or assistant instructor for OUT-126 Mountain Biking for the summer semester of 2021. These classes will be offered on 5/30-6/2, 6/3-6/6, and 6/27-6/30. Applicants do not need to commit to each of these sections. Instructional time will run from roughly 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The ideal candidate will be an engaging teacher with a dynamic approach to instruction. The Leadville Campus prides itself on the active art of teaching and illuminating learning for all students through experiential teaching in the outdoors and in the classroom setting. These summer courses are for United States Air Force Academy cadets, and a special emphasis will be placed on leadership throughout the curriculum.

Applicants, at a minimum, must have the equivalent of an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree. Applicants should also have the following certifications:

  • Wilderness First Responder
  • CPR
  • Level 1 PMBIA or Level 2 BICP


Some preparation of curriculum, syllabus, and assessments is expected.
