Colorado Mountain College in Leadville is seeking part time fire science faculty to teach a Hazardous Materials Operations course during the fall semester (Approx. Nov. – Dec.). The class would take place in person at the Leadville campus. We have already determined the times that work best for students’ schedules, but there can be a bit of flexibility with these if necessary.

The ideal candidate will be an engaging teacher with a dynamic approach to teaching. The Leadville Campus prides itself on the active art of teaching and illuminating learning for all students through experiential teaching in the outdoors and in the classroom setting.

Required qualifications include: a) CO State HazMat Operations Certification, b) CO State Fire Instructor, and c) three years minimum of full time experience with a fire department.

Preferred qualifications include: a) CO HazMat Technician Certification, b) HazMat IQ Certification, c) HazMat IC, and d) college level chemistry courses.
